Service completed mid-morning (found loose shackle, better now than when
back on Mongolia's awful roads), tyres rotated, high tensile bolts in auxiliary
fuel tank, spare parts on board, gear replaced, mud washed out of cabin and
house - we're ready to deeee-part! Went into town for vegies and meat, to look
at (meagre) camping exhibition, have a light lunch and meet the others. Yesterday BoyRob had found a second spring of Miles' was broken - his service
was finished but he had to track down someone who could bore new holes in his
replacement spring. He will leave tomorrow and catch us up. GnC were also
delayed due to getting documents faxed to Qld to renew their vehicle
registration whilst overseas.
We left Ulaanbaatar at last at 3pm. Camped out
on lovely green rolling hills a couple of hours north of the capital. Hills
behind were covered in trees - rare sight until now. Cemetery on lower slope.
BoyRob staggered to bed early with flu symptoms and a hot lemon drink. And just
as a pretty gold sunset was fading and the cold settling in, a lone horse came
charging up the hill through the space between our two vehicles, snorting and
hooves pounding. Over too quickly, a magic magic moment....
