Day 160 - Around Murun (meaning river) - Fri 2 Aug

Day 160 - Around Murun (meaning river) - Fri 2 Aug
Slept in, such a novelty. BoyRob put the mud flap back together, measured up the springs to see if they'll fit the planned holder nested inside each other (no!) and taped up the split headlight cover. Drove into town - Ger Man had worked hard on his fence which now came much nearer the track everyone uses to go down to the river. We think we'd best move on from this camp before we get blamed for the rubbish they all leave (the poor old dog we feed everyday will miss us though). Sat outside MobiCom and used internet, used tracking number and found our springs had arrived in Ulaanbaatar from Incheon Korea, but too late for Mongolia Customs to process – a long weekend looms….

Purchased Ozi -Explorer software and Kazakhstan Omni Map, and briefly played with it. Left the vehicle there downloading upgrades on all the apps and operating systems, and walked to good ole 50˚100˚ for dinner. Waitresses couldn't understand us so they just sat down and watched TV, ignoring our gestures to come take our order! Finally a waiter who speaks English turned up for work, and we went through what wasn't available on the menu, before ending up with a fried chicken/ cheese/ pork parcel and salad of cucurbit and tomato. Fortified we drove north to river on the other side of town and made camp on a flat bank, overlooking families washing and picnicking.
