Day 209 - Dzhankoi to Sudak - Fri 20 Sept

Day 209 - Dzhankoi to Sudak - Fri 20 Sept
BoyRob’s turn to wake early and read for an hour or so (no fair though, he turned on the light… might have to get an eReader for Christmas!!). Rain and overcast with decided chill in air. Drove south-east towards Feodosiia - pretty church, women in murals saint and cherubs, ornate bell tower. Old town, with charming meandering streets. Bought vegetable pasties at a pub stall, with almost no contents - eating is such a surprising experience! Day warming up, sunshine with cool breeze.

Followed coast to Sudak - a change from the flat tilled or sown fields, our first rolling hills, and vineyards with fresh vines in grey clay/ shale. Truck full of grape cargo. Crazy man on lookout with rifle ensured we didn't dally.

Sudak bustling, curving, bordered mountainous road out to Novi Svit, cluttered seaside town, narrow streets, mountain to sea, shimmering deep blue ocean. Saw castle, crowded entrance decided to camp out of town and go and see in morning when its cool. BoyRob prepared his famous stew, GirlRob cleaned inside and put away groceries and laundry. Cows and herdsman paid a visit to our camp among ruins.
