Day 10 - Cesky Krumlov through Telc to Kutna Hora - Thurs 15 May

Day 10 - Cesky Krumlov through Telc to Kutna Hora - Thurs 15 May

Very cold grey morning (still heater too hot!) camp manager arrived as we were depositing our money in basket at door (he wanted double!). Stork flew in front of us with twig in mouth, nesting season. Donkey looks stumpy, grass is so long. Bypassed Mt Klet, on to Holasovice, South Bohemia UNESCO protected buildings, impressive carved Christ statue near chapel.

Icons/prayer monuments along roads, heavily Catholic population. Narrow country roads, pretty countryside.

Drizzling and empty, the town of Telc was a letdown after the wonder of Cesky Krumlov. The info centre didn't know about medieval ornamental fish ponds recommended by Lonely Planet, told me I could go fishing in lake! Amazingly did find Locktite in a tiny shop, so now BoyRob can happily seal his bolts. Stork foraging in drained lake (not much fishing there!!)

Decided to go on to Kutna Hora to camp tonight. Found lovely camp ground (so far all have been relatively empty - still too early in season?) with Japanese garden and great hot showers, but only water to fill up vehicle was at the swimming pool. Bonus find in supermarket - Pinot Gris wine and soft blue cheese to top off the evening.
