May Day in Austria. Wanderoos rolled up sleeves for a thorough sort, pack and clean to ready vehicle not only for next couple of weeks driving to Rotterdam, but also to survive the 35 days in a shipping container to Africa. After 18 months of storage including a sub-zero winter, BoyRob was so relieved to find that all the major systems worked - motor, power/ solar/ batteries, tyres/braking, water, heating, stove, awning, steps etc. Noisy tractors passed our laneway towing an enormous (prone) Maypole, with 20-ish teenagers riding it straddle, hooting and waving on way to Showground.

Given
our empty hotel, Wanderoos sat in car park with crackers and salad for lunch, making a
test-run cuppa - perfect! In late afternoon drove to Scharding for a longer test
run, bright yellow canola fields surrounding prosperous homes and outbuildings.
Everything was shut and quiet there - lucky to find a pizza place open once
back in Raab. Weather turning chilly in evenings. Feeling excited about
getting on road again tomorrow.
