Drove through Petronius company town outside Kertih (a mall! street lights!) - HUGE industrial complex (fuel, fertilizer). Education throughout Malaysia is obviously a major priority in size of school buildings and sports fields, presentation, uniforms, motivational signs/ mottos, and discipline of children to and from school or on excursions. Found our way to Kenyir Dam, spectacular height, narrow with thundering spillway, cleanest water we've seen in Malaysia - but not allowed access/photos. Continued to Tasik Kenyir, stopped at tourist info centre and shown aquarium of fish found in lake... Orange finned setem/harlequin raspora, catfish, carp, bearded sepat siam/snakeskin gouramy, Humpbacked Potak/ featherback with bulging blue eyes – as fascinated by us as we of him!
People were setting up area running through resorts for international triathlon due on Sunday in this beautifully manicured location.

Drove up to Sg Buweh Waterfall (big white bird with fantail put on a show for us). It’s the first place we’ve found to encourage camping, many paved car parks and picnic tables provided. Found one with walkway down to lake, so went for a swim and decided it was our home for night. Family of 8 from Hong Kong stopped and asked to see inside camper... lots of oohing and aahing and posing for photos. So often we find ourselves the centre of attention!
